play games with a friend

 i just got a gold subscription. a friend who has a subscription that is one step up (i think) wants to play games that take place over a period of days (+). we're not sure how to do this. also, i sent him a chess.com friend request and he can't figure out how to respond. thanks to anyone that can help.  

sounds good. how in the h ll can i send him a challange? also, he's on an iphone and i have a desktop and he seems to think that could be a prob. tanks for the help

learn his username. Then go to his chess.com user page. For example, your chess.com page is:

http://www.chess.com/members/view/twidey

so, try http://www.chess.com/members/view/HISUSERNAME

And then, on that page, click on "challenge to play."

Than he would go to his online chess page,

http://www.chess.com/echess/myhome.html 

and accept your challenge.
