Commenting for this to gain traction because I had the same problem.
You can still use time control (though no custom time control) by selecting the custom setting after selecting a computer.
I wish it was still the same menu as before though...

I played some rated games earlier today against the computer. I just tried it and something is different now. I click on "live chess" and " computer" and it takes me to a different "versus computer" screen. Something is different now because it has never taken me to that screen before.
Is playing rated games against the computer being phase out or something? When I wanted to play against the computer today, I had to go through my old game stats and click on a game and select rematch. I couldn't just select to play the computer like I've been doing for months.
Did it change today?
Rated play against the bots in Live is being phased out. If you don't have the beta on in your settings, then it looks like the site has changed it recently for everyone. Last week that was only on beta

Yeah, I have found ways to do it in custom settings, but it's not convenient. I recently bought a diamond membership. If we can't play the bots, I would rather play at another site. It's a shame they are phasing out the rated games.
The new Computer section also does not allow you to use a DGT board. The DGT support only seems to be in the 'Live Chess' section. Previously I would use the Live Chess bit and send a challenge to a computer, and I was able to use the DGT board to play it.

I agree. It is a very bad idea to eliminate the rated game against bots...
My understanding is that rated play against the bots is being phased out. Direct challenges against the bots in Live Chess was still working as of yesterday, but I imagine that will be discontinued at some point.

You can go to your archive, and look for the games that you played against the bots. Simply click on they're username, and challenge them to a rated game.
Hopefully this helps
This was a nice feature to get a basic feel for how Chess.com live play worked, before bumbling into playing, potentially experienced, human players. Whilst also getting an idea of what one's current strength is (vs. was when I used to play OTB decades ago).
Be nice to see it be retained as a feature, but with the rating maintained separately from one's rating against human players.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes to play the bots. It's a lot less stressful to play an opponent that plays quickly and I don't need to worry about stalling, bad language or cheating. I wish I had known it was being phased out before I upgraded my membership. I am currently able to rematch my old bot opponents from my archives, but I imagine this will disappear eventually.
If someone from chess.com checks the forums, maybe they can enlighten us about what is happening and how long before it will be gone for good.

I agree on everything.
I like it because it's a mode that allows you to play a long-time game in half the time, as the opponent's moves are almost immediate... And you're sure you're playing with a computer, not a human using a computer...

You can play timed games in the new format by using the Custom option, though, not as long as you have been playing.
https://www.chess.com/forum/view/livechess/bots-play This is a link to a post containing all the bots and ratings at the time. I have been able to click on and play rated games thru this.
Agree with everything that has been said. I also liked the old feature a lot and played rated live games against bots quite frequently. Hopefully, chess.com reads this and brings this functionality back. Is there an official way to give them feedback ? Maybe we should all email them and make them aware of our request...

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe sending them a link to both of these posts in the forum discussing the issue will show them several views of members. The option is not totally gone yet, so maybe there is time to save it before it is eliminated.
WHY are rated games with bots being removed??
I play almost exclusively this way. As others said, less stress to play bots plus I'm not strong enough to play against humans. Why remove functionality that apparently many users have been routinely depending on? Is it because of abuse?
The "new" play against computer with fancy bots is fine but it doesn't allow rated games, so I can estimate my rating by playing bots!
