only thing I can think of is internet cutting out?
Randomly got my game abandoned

In this game I was just thinking about the move 8...Nc6 for a bit (since there was an increment and I figured I could play faster later) and then my game got marked as abandoned and it said I lost. What is this?
If you think too long before move 10, there is Alon move timer that can cause a game to be abandoned.

It could also just be a disconnect.

I made the move and waited for the opponent response, but it instead said game abandoned and you lost. This happened 3 times. Is this done by players intentionally. Then what steps to take to stop it. Please reply

The same has happened to my opponent in the last 2 games for no apparent reason.
If you do not make a move in a certain time, or if you lose connection to the internet.....you have abandoned the game and lose.
That is the "apparent" reason.

I also lost by abandonment completely random, I had 1:22 time, was my opponent move, he moved, next second the game stopped and I couldn't understand why. Apparently I lost by abandonment
I just got abandoned despite being online and waiting for my opponent's move. I lost the game, and it is not fair.
This has now happened to me several times. Games that im potentially winning in material or ahead on time just get abandoned and counts as my loss and my rating drops.

Same happens to me many times, last 2-3 weeks for sure.
I have minus to rank even if position is going to checkmate and my win in few moves.
Its so frustating!

This just happened to me in an unrated game (thankfully). I castled and then it almost immediately said I abandoned the game. I absolutely did not lose internet or anything during the time. My connection is remarkably stable.
Is this some garbage due to third party script/cookie/ad blocking?
I just lost by abandonment right now as well when i was definitely still connected and in the game.
same. Happened twice by now. my wifi is good. It's not a wifi issue. I moved then it said game abandoned right after I moved.
Unfair! I became an innocent victim of a server lag!
I was playing black and in the middle of a game, waiting for my opponent to move. My screen showed his clock was counting down. So I thought that I was waiting for him to move. After I waited more than a minute for my opponent to move, it said: "game abandoned, white won" and I lost points!
When I analyzed the game, I saw that my opponent had actually made the last move of the game. So I must have been the one who timed-out. That is utterly unfair, because the system had never showed me his next move in the live game. Worse, the system had shown me that his clock was counting down, thus giving me a complete false impression.
Conclusion: 1.If there was some sort of connection problem, then the system should at least warn me and not show me my opponents clock counting down, thus letting me believe I am waiting for my opponent. 2.There should be a second communication channel in parallel, that asks me if I am still there. Only if both communication channels fall away, the system should assume that one player was disconnected (whether on purpose or not).

BinderBen Something like this happened to me.
I was playing a game and when I made the move Qe5 and it didn’t count.
I made the move and my opponents clock was running down.
After the game was done it said I lost the game.
I waited the entire 10 minutes and I didn’t leave the game.
I just wanted to point that out.
