Rating range when I start a custom game does not work.

I want to play daily games at 1 day per move. I go into custom game and set the rating range to -25, +infinity. Then it matches me with people 400 or 800 points below my rating, and I have to abort the game.

Why is the rating range not working for me?

It's a known bug and staff is aware and should be fixed at some point.

Martin has said it's known, maybe worth reporting

Whatever your seeing now is unrelated to the issue from last year.

Where are you setting the range? One thing to try is if you're setting it within Play, try instead setting it under Settings > Live Chess

I had always assumed that when I set it to -25 there is some secret formula and that getting -100 to -150 set at -25 is normal.  Should -25 actually mean no less that -25 then?  (yes I only play using play and set it while in play)

I should say I have noticed though at night on like a Saturday night, the pairings seem to usually stick closer to what I have set while during weekdays for example the pairings tend to wander outside of that. Not sure if that helps.

what does infinity mean anyway, any rating up or down?
