Site Errors?

Its not.

The programmers do know what triggered it and are fixing it. We do know from checking most used browsers that it is much worse on Chrome, therefore not affecting everyone.

I'm not suggesting a permanent browser switch, just a temp one if accessing groups is urgent until we get it fixed.

Second try, I don't know is this will work this time...

It seems the tournament issue mentionned above has been fixed. Basically, this screen was displayed instead of the regular chessboard when looking for players' games:

Hi...I'm new to all of this...I've just accepted a challenge via my Android app and the opponent has begun the game. I went to move but all of the pieces on the back rows on both sides of the game are positioned incorrectly. I've tried restarting my phone, removed the cache/cookies etc and checked on the website but the problem is still there. My opponent hasn't replied to my chat comment, so I don't know if s/he is seeing the same incorrect format as me. It's not affecting other games. Any advice would be soooooo cool :-)

I experience a similar phenomenon, especially playing 960 with the android app. When I use mozilla firefox, I don't have the problem.

I think you accepted a Chess960 challenge by accident.

In all fairness to him, though I agree he most likely did by mistake, some of the pieces disappear and change colors in my 960 games. I am trying to give the benefit of the doubt that he did his part and there is an error.

Duh. The shame. Ok, thanks all...I'm (obviously) new to this game and site and I've never heard of chess960 before. I will lie down on hot coals and throw dust on my head as penance :-) Oh, and then attempt to play the game in the style of a modern day martyr....:-)

I'm having problems with no main avatar for each group i'm in. It just says their name. I also can't get any themes to down load, either for me or on the groups sites. They are all black/white/or grey. The middle part of the screen on my personal page is correct, but the surrounding picture is gone and all I see is grey. HELP!!!!

For groups, try the image 200 * 200 pixels with pgn format. Once you've updated the group avatar make sure you do clear your browser cookies and history otherwise your browser history may still show you an old avatar.

With themes are you adding your own background image or using one already created?

I've also had this problem for some time now. Cannot do a preview before submitting.

@Staff             This is a new problem I noticed:

I started a thread about it in the general chess forum because, I thought there was another explanation, but I have realized it is actually a site error. I am going to leave a link to the thread I started. All of the info is there. It would be easier to have to you look at it, than to retype it all.

Nameno, I looked at the other thread, but, obviously couldn't post in it because you have me blocked. There seem to be an unusual number of bugs popping up lately, judging by many people's comments. I have had some problems, also. Your best bet would probably be to submit a ticket directly to staff.

Many members have had an issue posting a vid or pic. I believe there is no need to go to edit and preview now before submitting. Some members thought it might be their browser, so, depending on what you're using, try another?

This has worked for me (sometimes). Switching between google chrome and FF. IE seems to be the worst.

The problem of not being able to submit after editing started about a week ago.  It went away for a day, then returned. I find it using both FF and Chrome.  I didn't bother with Safari, Opera or IE.  This only happens in forums, not in blog postings.
