i think i speak for all of the chess speedrunning community. i (and some others) have noticed bots moving much slower than they have before. in addition, clicking resign takes at least two seconds to register. now to the average chess player, these seem insignificant at most. however, these things are crucial, CRUCIAL, to speedruns. individual bot/level runs. full game runs. lots of WRs are set in stone now, making it unfair for anyone to beat. i’m not saying all of this to be salty. i have several WRs of my own, and i just want it to be fair and fun for everyone. if there’s anyone who knows about these changes, or have noticed them, please let me know. i have one theory. i also have noticed additional dialogue to pretty much all of the bots around the same time as these time changes, so my guess is that these two have some correlation somehow. something that backs this up is the fact that the engine bots (levels 1-25) are more or less the same, and resigning is quick - and those bots don’t have any dialogue whatsoever. if you’re reading this and aren’t a part of the chess speedrunning category, check out chess com on speedrun com
