Hi Friends,

I was playing Blitz today; when I lost last game my adjusted rating was 1452 after that I clicked on new challenge I am able to see challenges were getting issued however on my chess.com app game/challenge didn't appear on my screen.

I was travelling then after 5 mins when game started I saw my rating was dropped by 60 points.

I checked on website it is showing I lost 6 games in row and cause 60 points.

I didn't not resigned 6 games and why would I resign without moving a pieces.

Shouldn't I get my points back since it was system error ??

Please advise

Thanks!

Vasylyna.

Since most of our development efforts are focused on Version 3 , there’s not a lot to report about the current website — except for a couple of changes to Live Chess:

    • Regardless of time control, White’s clock now starts automatically 2–3 seconds after the game is created. This method seemed the most consistent and fair, assuming that players are ready to play when they issue a seek. Black’s clock will start immediately after White’s move, provided Black's client has successfully subscribed to the new game. (If not, Black's clock will "wait" until the game is loaded.)
    • Version 3 is available at www.chess.com/switch
  • We're aware of these issues. It's a balancing act between not making players wait forever when a player has disconnected and not wanting players to be unfairly resigned. The safest bet is to only play on your phone if you know the connection won't change or you won't have to swap out of the app.
  • Aborting games too often will temporarily suspend your ability to abort games. This means that if you cannot play, you will have no choice but to resign (or risk further sanctions described above, by abandoning your game or disconnecting). If you have to abort, then do so of course, but whenever possible, use the features available to minimize your need to abort chess games!(This feature is only available in v2).

My point was if you have not made any move then probably its unfair if system auto resigned the games especially losing point without moving pieces is what unfair.

I completely agree with you, I have seen people stop making move and keep you waiting, they should get penalties.

Thanks.

You only lose points for abandoning too many games; afterwards they become resignations with the resultant rating loss.

To clarify, you were on the app and it started games even though you didn't interact with it? If that is the case you should open a ticket and include the device type and app version.

Lol, there seem to be more staff members than actual members here.

Switch to v3 and there won't be any staff in this topicwink.png

Are you talking about new version of app V3 I will check play store.

That reply was to ProCrazy. The app you are on is very likely v3.

I'm sorry for the off topic question, but am I the only one who likes that mods are labeled staff? Makes it easy to know who is one.

v3 also has a special icon but it is a mod icon (blue pawn).
