When i tried to open an URL within chess.com such as profile of a member or while trying to view a Trophy it says "

The URL you're trying to reach has been blocked!" is there a way to resolve this issue.

If you told us the url, we could check and see if it was blocked for us too...

For example if i want to access my profile by clicking the following url- http://www.chess.com/members/view/mrasianchat it says the page is blocked and i can't view it.

I don't know what to tell you. Those urls work for me.

Also where are you accessing the webiste from? (Home, school, hotel, library?)

I'm using ubuntu os but when i tried using windows os it worked fine.

Is there any firewall in ubuntu w hich is blocking the url.

@mrasianchat, I have the same problem and I suspect its the ISP. Are you facing this while your ISP is ACT?

@Satheesht0 - ISP is not a problem i believe, as i have windows partition in my laptop and it works fine there. The problem is with linux OS ubuntu according to my observation but not sure how to over come this situation. Are you using linux OS Satheesh?

it may be because of your antivirus software . Temporarily you can use proxy website to open those

@shankris2012, I do not have an antivirus program i hope it should be the default firewall in ubuntu which blocks the links. But still unable to find the solution.. Thanks for your response.

@Shankris, I have the issue in windows but only from home (ISP is ACT). Same laptop when used in the office network works fine. Let me try a few more combinations. I have an old home laptop which runs ubuntu, will let you know if I have any good news.
