time freezes

I’ve currently got a game frozen with one minute to go before my opponent times out. And they will be checkmated no matter what they do on the next move. Very frustrating. 

Check your Daily Chess settings. 

If Automatically claim victory when time runs out! is toggled off, it won't claim the game. I think there may be an option on the game itself to claim, but if not, turning that on should do it.

Otherwise, you can either set a conditional move if you're on the website, wait till the opponent moves, or 60 days pass where the system will claim it.

Thanks Martin, but there are no options as you’ve described in Settings on my Mac or other Apple mobile devices. Also I’ve never had this issue before. The app usually automatically claims victory when opponents time out. I did have an issue like this in the Quick Games a year or so back.

That setting is only on the website but impacts games regardless of where they are played. It also only impacts Daily games that are not in tournaments, not any live time controls.

If that setting is on, it could be a bug.
