Tournament Hosting Question

I have just recently joined chess.com and when I get the required amount of completed games I would like to host a thematic tournament. I was just wondering if it is against the rules of this site to host an unrated advanced chess tournament. For those who do not know what this is, advanced chess means humans working with a computer to analyze. I would like to make it clear that I am completely against cheating and have never used a computer in any of my rated games before but I am just unclear of the rules regarding unrated games/tournaments. Thank you

For starters, non-paying members can't start tournaments.

Secondly, I don't think anyone would get too many takers for a tournament you describe. There is already an analyze function for deciding which move you'd like to make. What you describe sounds like computers playing against each other, with the member receiving "credit" for winning.

I don't believe there is anything wrong with doing as you describe.  Centaur games (humans using computer assistance) are already allowed when they are unrated and both players are aware of the conditions of the game.  As long as the tournament is unrated and it is clear from the title or description that computer use is allowed/encouraged, then it should be fine.

Of course, I'm not a member of staff, so you may want to get confirmation of all of this before you go setting anything up.

@AlCzervik:

You're missing a bit of the complexity involved in Centaur games.  A human making smart choices with the guidance of a computer is generally going to perform better than a player that just plays whatever move an equivalent computer suggests.  Smart players understand where computers are weak and use human knowledge and intuition to avoid weaker lines that a computer might mistakenly believe is equal.
