I don't think new players should be allowed to enter tourneys. They should have to become truly ranked first. I found people to play over and over again, if they were my level. We continually go back and forth on the win/loss outcomes, which makes it fun. We then enter tourneys together.

I am a lower intermediate player ,currently below 1250 rating , who is faced with a "Newbie"provisional 1200 who turns out to be skilled player who has won first ,13 games in succession! If you are not around my level you won't have been noticing, of course, but am I the only person on the site who thinks it is highly anomalous that site rules , as practiced at present time, initially forbid a" brand new "player from entering site tournaments while apparently it is OK for other Tournament and Match Directors to do so ? At least 3 provisional Anomalous Twelve Hundred "Newbies" were entered against the Scottish Team in match V Bulgaria and one player reached a peak rating of 1961 before the habit of leaving moves to the last minute backfired and caused a number of games to be lost.Other Newbies in same contest are also scoring highly. Anomalous too are scoring implications....had I been beaten early my scoring would have been heavily downgraded because of a rating of 1200 defeating my higher rating. As it is there is little hope of my winning for my side , which seems to me to represent clearly unfair competion conditions, clearly requiring a change of rulings.
