When getting a trial premium membership, there are two options. The Yearly one has a lower per month equivalent pricing but is charged for the full year. The Monthly option is billed monthly and has a higher overall cost.
The subscription trial and yearly renewals are automatically processed unless canceled prior to the renewal date.
For a refund, you will need to contact Support directly using the Help option in the Menu.
Appreciate the responses. Currently in touch with Chess.com and my bank to have this issue resolved. Canceled my subscription in the meantime and aren't going to use the website to avoid any further use of benefits whilst attempting to end my subscription. Was charged this morning a few hours ago so this should be capable of being resolved with no further problems.
Its the same with streaming apps......peacock, Paramount +, hulu, etc. They charge you $1 for the 1st week, then its $5, or $10 dollars a month.
If you don't want to pay...... dont pass over your credit card details.

You must be special needs. So how do you do the things you enjoy if you're unwilling to pay for anything? Your logic is immensely flawed. Also, you CANNOT delete your card information from Chess.com once it's in there. Keep talking though, broke boy.
well did you solve it ? It sounds frustrating to be charged $120 instead of $10. It’s crucial that companies clearly state all charges. So after being subscribed to Chess.com for two weeks it appears I was suddenly charged $119 dollars to my bank account without obvious notice. All it said on the advert and billing page was that I would be paying 10 dollars a month to get the full benefits of using this website but was not informed that I would be paying that monthly amount ALL AT ONCE, which equates to roughly $120 dollars.
To expect a charge of $120 dollars when all you see is a monthly charge of $10 dollars is an intriguing surprise to say the least. Why must we resort to these malpractices of not clearly stating we are going to be charged $120 dollars right off the bat? Why ever say $10 dollars when you are going to just charge us $120 anyways? It's dishonest business practice to do such a thing and can lead to hefty lawsuits when done to the wrong people. My bank even contacted me about an hour after the charge to confirm if this was a fraudulent charge because even they must think this was a ridiculous payment for the services provided, or they have had many others dispute the same charge. Either way, this is not good.
