If you are on vacation, it is all your games and per day not per game....IIRC
Vacation Days for Online Games
I guess I Will post my problem here, since this kind of relates.
I am in a game with a guy who uses vacation everyday. He has 200+ games going and will go to vacation sometimes 2+ times a day. We are only on move 9 and only 10 days into the tourney, but he uses it to pause instead of actual vacation time. Is this abuse? I contacted support a day or so ago. Figured i would bring it up here. IT seems so far he goes to vacation everytime he logs off the comp. HAve not recieved a responce from support yet.
Never had this before. I mean I have had people go on vacation, but that was for several days. Not a few times a day just to pause games.
Do others do this on here? Seems abuse to me, using vacation time for something i dont believe it was ment for.
Its kind of funny to watch his account tho. He will log in, take vacation off. Play a move in a few of his games put vacation back on. Comeback and repeat.

Are vacation days on a per day basis, or are they divided up between all your games?
Vacation time is for your account, so, if your account is on vacation for one day, you lose one day of vacation. The number of games you have going is irrelevant.

WIthout knowing who the player is, I'm guessing that they are a premium member, whos account is being put on vacation by the auto-time out protection feature afforded to premium members. While this is unsportsmanlike, it's not against the rules. But, rest assured, if they are going on vacation that much, they will run out of vacation time, then their games will start to time out.

I'm having a similar problem now. A player is using his vacation option with a number of his games it seems, including mine. He is obviously using it for extra thinking time which is not in the spirit of the game. Surely they can be warned about this and lose the game by default. It may not be cheating but its not far off.

since were talking about vacations this 1 guy in my tournament is using his second vacation during the tournament im so pissed b4 he made his 1st move he went on vacation, and it says just chilling i could do horrible things to that dude. why the f would you join a tournament and then go on vacation. hes holding everybody im my group up f him

I don't think there is a problem with anyone using any amount of their allowed vacation time. You have it to use at your discretion, so I don't see how people can become so upset. It may slow play down, but it's not as if there is no one else to play.

The status "just chilling (7 months ago)" is not related to current vacation.
You are in the 7th Chess.com Tournament (1801-2000) that started 2009 Jun 01.
For comparison check the 2nd Chess.com Tournament (1801-2000) that started 2008 May 06. The first round of that tournament took about 5 months, with the second round starting 2008 Oct 01.
You will find that many players will go on vacation in the time it takes to finish a tournament. (Some will extend every move with auto-timeout protection.) The non-resigner/vacationer in the last game of a round will be the one who holds the tournament up. But the point is, whether a player takes vacation before the first move or during the last game of a round, large tournaments take a long time.
Advertising: Slow but fast, time control 14 days/move, group size 2, both games start immediately and no vacation. Estimated duration 4 to 8 years.

tadude i guess you have a point everybody has to finish be4 the next round, but im just ready 2 see whos coming in first and im getting impatient i have 2 games left with the same guy and only got 20 somethings moves in i need 1 win to be in clear 1st and sometimes i wonder if people do that so youll make an irrational impatient move just becuz youre tired of playing the same game

I think there is a problem, sure a problem that it seems we have to put up with however we really need to define what we mean vaccation. To me it means an extended absence from your place of residence or work and not for a coffee break or time to get some extra analysis from your computer. If you were playing across the board in a competition you couldnt just stop the clock and tell your opponant you were off for a coffee. I think its just poor sportsmanship and bad manners. Play the game properly in the right spirit.
