Think b4 u lol...if one is playing about 50 different boards and chopping and changing between each one and in a couple of the games most of your pieces are near the top and your opponent's pieces are near the bottom (or so), you have got to think of what colour you are playing and you can only do this by pressing on "details". This happens to me quite often, especially when there a only a few pieces left on the board.

One method is to set the option: Always show white at the bottom. Then, if your name appears underneath the board, you are white. Otherwise, if it appears above the board, you are black.
This is not without consequences.

Another option would be to have black writing for the black piece color player on a white background and white color with a background for the white piece player, but this would require an adjustment in font for better readability, for white more spacing and a coarser or wider letter.
I think that visual effects are more readily discernable and perceptible than any plain text written all black on a white background and vice-versa.
Potential problems with the colour themes people have chosen: the labels may end up invisible.
Another simpler approach would be to write in brackets, next to the player's name, the piece color the player is playing or alternatively, write in bracket, next to the player's name: (you are playing as black or white).
But that would require a change by chess.com.
Can you elaborate on the consequences of electing to show the white player at the bottom of each board?
Would appreciate you input.
If you're accustomed to always having your own pieces at the bottom of the display (as I imagine most people are), it will require extra effort to visualise your moves down the screen when you're black, but up the screen when you're white. That was the consequence I was referring to.

Another method is to try to move a piece of the colour you think you are. If you can move it, it's your colour!
You have to watch out that you are not playing Touch Move, and that the piece you try out on is capable of being moved.
Do I continuously have to press the "Details" button to find which colour I am playing (as sometimes the boards can become pretty scrambled) - or am I missing something here? Please advise.. Thanks
