Why Was My Climate Change Thread Locked?
Bad luck.
No doubt one or more of the usual suspects making complaints to help and support about threads they don't like.
87 is probably right. It's probably someone that didn't like the topic. And if they are unable to throw a fit in the topic itself, they figure trying to get it locked is justified.
Still waiting for a response by the mods. The other threads get answered in under an hour. Why not mine?

I think this thread was reported, basically for no reason except people were having fun on it. I think we know who reported it. It shouldn't have been closed because it was a bit of light trolling when I was asleep. I complained about it publicly and I think the mod concerned immediately changed his username. Again, this thread was there for a reason. Chess.com don't seem to govern their moderators with an even hand. Some are very good, others are lacksadaisical and yet others, overly draconian.
Bad luck.

They deliberately try to get threads closed. It's what I was complaining about to staff members earlier in the year. It may be worth complaining about because it was closed due to malicious reporting.
If you go to the bottom of the page there's a horizontal listing and it will be in a subsection of community and also probably of help.
You're welcome. It's a shame it was locked because in his thread, Elroch effectively bans those who disagree. It seems he has no intention of trying to persuade them. He allows you-know-who, whom we all dislike for good reasons, to bully them and abuse them and he never bans you-know-who but instead uses their responses to you-know-who to block them. So your thread was the only effective climate thread.
Next time, I would suggest blocking those whom you know have malicious intent. That's because they deliberately try to create an air of unpleasantness and if they can do that, it substantially improves their chances of finding a gullible mod to lock it. It's how they operate. Apparently, politically motivated but in reality, not. Because if it was really political, they'd understand that a popular thread is more effective than an unpopular one, however many posts it may contain. Therefore it's actually all about personal power, making it hypocritical in the extreme.
The reason I'm saying what I'm saying is because, as you know, I'm a bit of a climate change activist myself. However, I feel embarassed by the dishonest and bullying tactics which others, who apparently support the same cause, use to silence opposition, instead of trying to get people to talk and exchange views in a non-threatening manner. I believe these people damage the cause I also am supporting. I believe in friendship and in the fact that all people have their own prioritisation for reacting the way they do to climate change alarmism.
I'm sure nobody breached TOS, the thread received no warning, and the thread was locked without explanation.
