CHESSMASTERorCM, if you have not found it already: points simply show how "active" chess.com members are. You get a point for every forum response, forum post, blogs (I think too, but not certain) and so forth. However, these points mean nothing other than to show this activity outside of chess games - with nothing to exchange for these points, so they simply collect. Still not a bad idea though, although a cool idea would be if one could exchange points for a discounted premium membership, or something else. However, this may cause other problems though such as people posting many "one word responses" to boost points - or by creating worthless forums etc.
