auto-abort

Why do my live chess games keep ending prematurely extremely quickly usually after the first move with a pop-up saying the game will auto-abort in xx seconds, then the countdown begins and the game auto-aborts when it quickly counts down to zero seconds. I have a strong WiFi connection. That does not appear to be the problem. I am using my Ipad Air with latest IOS 9.1, but it happened on earlier versions as well. Any ideas to fix the problem?

There's a little known requirement that each player only has 15 to 20 seconds to make his first move.  Let me find something official: From the Fair Play Policy:

On his or her turn, each player has 15-20 seconds to make their first move. If this does not happen, the game will be automatically aborted. This has a negative effect on the Fair-Play record of the player failing to move. (But if you hit Abort, it affects your record! It's best to be patient for a few seconds.)

It appears that the counting of self aborting vs. auto aborting has a bug.  I loaded iPhone chess and after several games in which the app auto-aborted I quit playing on the iPhone.  The next day when I logged in on a normal computer, I received a warning about prematurely aborting games and the abuse of the fair play clause.  Why should I be warned about behavior that is inherent in your app?

im not sure but i think it got fixed, but in Tournaments it still happens so i dont think its a bug but a feature, a kind of stupid feature you have like 10 seconds to make a move in bullet and guess what it doesnt work well,  last time the auto resign got stuck at 0 which is pretty unfair.

auto abort comes up every move, this is not a one minute per move game.

In addition to above on the auto abort, the 960 game live chess under classical time control needs to not have an 60 second auto abort at all, as both players require perusal time before making their first move. Perhaps something like the "are you there" for confirmation rather than forcing an immediate move?

Hey! I recommend you send this in as a suggestion at Help > Make a Suggestion in the menu bar on the left.
