Bad sports on Chess.com

a lot of times i will say a clever comeback or 3 in a row (i'm a fast typist) and then log out. one guy was exceptionally rude so i acted as the judge of his insults i.e. he would insult me and i would rate the insult. I think this kind of annoyed him.
*insult A*
That's pretty clever,good one.
*Insult B*
Not bad, didn't see that one coming!
*Insult A again *
Nice try, but you said that already, try again; I know you can do better.

Disabling chat for every game seems like a bad reaction. Why let a few bad apples spoil the bunch? Whenever I start a game with someone and see they disabled chat immediately I instinctively think "what's wrong with this guy?"

I usually play 5 minute or 10 minute live chess.
It seems that the administrator should cancel their membership if they receive 2 or 3 complaints from players.
This kind of talk is against the USCF (and most certainly) FIDE rules of fair play.
It just really annoys me because I teach chess to children and the kids are better sports than adults.
I abide by the quote of Susan Polgar.."Win with grace...lose with dignity."
These patzers do not even deserve to play a royal game that is played by classy women like the Polgars.

The big problem with that is I could make 3 seperate accounts lodge 3 complaints and your out of your account, I just learn to ignore them and besides i love beating up a sore loser in chess. I personally find that the stronger the players rating the nicer they are

lol nice

I enjoy trying to figure out the names of chess.com players, yhey are interesting,as for the opponent calling me a loser,I look at it as s/he has the problem of being a bad sport.Or just can not losing.

The only rude people I've met on chess.com are in the forums. Everyone I have played against has been nice. I would just disable chat if someone was being rude or abusive.

i encountered quite a few rude players here. Just a few minutes ago a guy outplayed me and mocked me personally. Sad thing is he's also Asian like I am and I happen to get these remarks from asian guys which is shameful. Although I've been advised to ignore these people I was hoping there's someone we can report this to so they can be totally blocked from the site.
We're all here to enjoy the games, learn from each other and hopefully exchange cultural views in the process through chats or just be here for the specific purpose.... to play chess.

In this situation immediately disable chat & totally ignore further comments. That is the correct action to take.
In general members on this site are very polite so your speaking of a minority..
Not the case on other sites & yahoo chess can be quit an experience at times !
:-)
Hi all.
I just love this site in so many ways, but I have questions.
I would estimate 90% of the people on this site are either wonderfully friendly or just play chess.
But wanted to ask you how you handle bad sports on our site?
I have had players call me "loser", mock my Chess.com "name" ie("Is that how you lost to Kasparov?" etc.) and make other disparaging comments.
I guess I could disable the chat, but what do you do?
Is there a way to report this to Chess.com?
Thank you.
