that is a sync issue with the server, either due to lag on your end or their end.
bug with starting positions?
Sort:
check your internet connection. ie, reset your router/modem, run a speedtest on your mobile device/computer. if you're playing from a mobile device, try playing on a computer and see if you have the same issue or vice versa. if it messes up on mobile but works fine on desktop, try reinstalling the app on your mobile.
yeah, check your internet connection. go to speedtest.net when you have issues and see what it says. if you're on wifi, try to direct connect.

so i played in the marothon kings gamit tournament in live chess (not the new one). my first game i was black and and my opponents clack started ticking instead of mine and its black to move after e4 e5 f4 when i tryed to make a move my opponents clock was still counting then i lost by abondoment.same thing happened on the scond game with black( by now i lost like 30+ points).3 time im with white and my opponent plays the move then i tryed the piece went back to origonal square. on the 5th try im in the new live beta verson or something and it worked so plz tell me what happened.( i lost 50 plus points because of this bug).plz help:.((
