There is a bug in the game...it has happened to me multiple times that when i move my pawn (from the starting position) by 2, for the opponent it only shows moved by one. it is a critical play and has messed my many games.

Possibly everything. What you are talking about sounds like an En Passant capture - a special type of move where a pawn can capture another pawn as if it had only moved one square.
Take another look at that link that TadDude gave you and read up on En Passant for more details. If it doesn't sound like what you're seeing, then do as DeepGreene suggested and provide us with a game and move number.
