just found the "highlight moves" option in settings. Where has this been all my life? :/
Hopefully helpful to others with the same issue.
It might be useful to rename this setting to "highlight last move". I've seen it before, and always assumed it referred to the dots showing legal moves (which I don't want to enable because I want to train my eye to see legal moves without assistance).
Does anybody else have this issue?
It feels pretty terrible to be in a winning position, and have my opponent premove a pawn at the edge of the board. I often lose 10-20 seconds to this in games where my opponent is moving quickly (maybe half of the games I play).
I know there is an audible click when it's my turn, but that isn't nearly enough - typically I'm listening to music, and the sound is subtle enough that I miss it anyways.
I've tried messing with volume settings, which helps, but not much. When I'm playing on my phone, I usually can't have the volume on in the first place.
I've also gained a habit of looking down at my clock very frequently, but this just adds unnecessary cognitive load, wastes time, and doesn't even solve the problem completely.
This seems like something that would be very easy to fix. Could we get a simple black/white border around the board? Maybe a simple highlight of the opponent's last move (as exists in other parts of the site/app)?
