That is true. You can see some examples on youtube of hustlers getting blindsided by real grandmasters posing as noobs.
My tournament, however, is team-based. As the teams are created by a sort of participants based on their skill levels, they do not know what team they are on. Each team is numerically equal to all the other teams. The competition is free and it is an official club site of chess.com. Each month 4 diamond memberships are awarded to the top 4 on the leaderboard. I will post last month's leaderboard and a daily competition result so you can see what it looks like.
