I got into Live Chess for a while.

This gameroom is very interesting

except the disconnected during the play

that was very often occured

when we were playing in the online room.

Otherwise I would like to appreciate the attempt

of the Team for a best thing  I ever found.

many thanks!

There are still bugs that need to be fixed in live chess, try a different browser when connecting; otherwise, play online chess, it's just as fun.

the problem is the underlying ajax code, uses a weak refresh method.
thats why IE6 en IE7 often fails and firefox (often) can deal with it but also not always. Ajax might not be the best protocol, but on the otherside, well they have made it all working for up to 95% or so (guesing) its still impressive, i think.
Its not the IE6 or IE7 are bad brouwser, just different the focus of microsoft isnt Ajax, (rather asp / silverlight) ... maybe they be able to port IE6 / IE7 user to a ms IIS front end.   (lets hope some people at MS play chess here, and read this post )

Oh and if you dont want to mixup your brouwser, you can use "firefox on a stick" put it on an usb and you have your own privat brouwser just for this site.

I found a solution for not getting disconnected:  here it is!

1. When you connect to the server; look at the "games" tab; and if shows in "hundreds" then the probability of you getting disconnected is less (and that you have got the right connection); but if it shows only a "few games" then you will CERTAINLY get disconnected (meaning your connection is NOT right)!

It is better then to disconnect yourself then; and try to reconnect!

I also have the problem (I use MOZILLA) and despite trying to fix it... no way :S

For me the solution was to install the program on my PC FireFoz 3 and never returned to disconnect

I used to play on Yahoo chess a while ago and they had an interesting feature which allowed you to resume a game after you reconnected within a certain time frame. This certainly would make things a lot less frustrating in my opinion. I understand that it is a work in progress but adding a feature similar to this one would improve the experience IMHO. Additionally, while I was on Yahoo,  opponents of disconnected players have the option not to force a win in cases of fairplay when the disconnected player was ahead for example.

I don't mean to compare because | am totally addicted to this site but these are interesting features that would make a world of a difference and would just need some tweaking on the database if I'm not mistaken.

Just my two cents on the matter.

Peace...

It is really bad that in the middle of the game it gets disconnected.  If the status is disconnected the game has to start from the same point where it got disconnected or else the score should be given equal (considered as draw).

it happens to me, sometimes restart helps, but it was fatal about a month ago, the sceen did not get loaded completely, so only a grey board without pieces...so I tried 2 hrs. and went to bed after 2 in the knight, after my sleep I lost about 100 games on time, my rating was 365 points down!
