Flashing Clock and Disconnect

Sort:

Just wondering if it's just me, or is this happening to anyone else....There are certain rated players that I can play and be dominating and then all of a sudden the clock will start flashing and I get disconnected(with the typical message warning). Is it just me???

IT HAPPENS TO ME ALSO .

This just happened to me. I was in a rook ending and all of the sudden I was disconnected and had 20 seconds to reconnect. I was connected fine and as soon as I lost, I browsed the site perfectly. It was just acting up long enough to cost me the win. As a gold member, I thought we had time out protection anyway. I guess that's bs unless you have to turn it on somewhere. Winning games is tough enough to not lose the few games you are actually winning. It's really disappointing.

It also happens to me. Once, I was up a piece in a totally won ending, and then the clock started flashing. Then, I got two minutes subtracted from my clock.

Yeah I am on fiber NZ vodafone and it does it to me too!

Guess our devices have bad wifi connectivity to their servers latency wise that or they really are just too far away and don't have the speed needed to serve us!

Just to quote I am on 40mbps according to speedtest.net if that isn't enough juice to get to their end consistently they sure have one bad end!

There are a number of connections between you and the Chess.com servers. Any part of that path can introduce issues.

Minimalism!

Routing should depend on as little servers as possible but instead they introduce loads and reduce quality in exchange for what you'd call reliability, Heh!

yes I was just coming to forums to bitch about it I was playing a 60/60 live game had over the 50 mins left on timer, took a min or 2 to reconnect and when it did it said I resigned. WTF??? It didn't take me 50 mins to get re logged, whatever is up with that it really needs to be fixed, I'm steaming cuz I'm new and that woulda been my best win ever so far.

Good to know that it isn't only me...

CoachNac

Just now happened me too.

I just played a game up a queen. Guy disconnects. time flashes then this time begins to run down.

When his time runs out nothing happens. The game counts it as no game.

Why do I not get credit for the win? I was up and he disconnected.

Here as well! It sucks. I guess OTB chess has it's advantages.

Happened to me twice in the last 24 hours. Suddenly both clocks start flashing (10-minute games), no moves are possible, yet it resolves, after some time has elapsed, with me being told I've lost the games on time. In both instances I was awarded a loss from winning positions.  I hope chess.com can reolve this or even explain what is happening.
