You might consider dropping "Chaser" from your username.

I think those 8 inch floppies were even before "Wall Street," (1987), those were like the days from Reagan getting shot and the Rubix cube.
The Rubix cube was 1970s
Reagan was shot in 1981
New computers had drives for eight-inch floppies through the mid-1990s, but 3.5 inch floppies were standard by 1990.
8" floppies were exceedingly rare, even as early as the 80s. Perhaps you're thinking of 5¼" floppies which were still common into the mid-90s?
ZBORG -- Didn't even notice that! WOW.. I may have to consider, again, at least renting a life for a few days to see what it's like!
I suppose it would be entirely appropriate to say:
"..perhaps watch Jim Carey -- he'll crack you up.."
I have to admit that the endless "GGs" in that post earlier DID crack me up! The poor guy on the receiving end of it was like "Dude? WTF? Fine! I heard you -- goooood GAME!!"
..only to be followed by --> "GG"
No, there is only one G in arrogance. On the other hand native american indians used to have a contest called the Arrow Dance. It however has no G's in it. There are plenty of words with a GG in them, for example mugger, nugget, plugged, bugged, logger, waggy, foggy...I could go on. The simple repetition of the seventh letter of the alphabet does not appear to be offensive on the whole, with the possible exception of an episode of South Park. I fail to see the point of the thread and understand I may just be slow as it extends to 76 fascinating pages already. Still, I am sure you will enlighten me and lift me from my igggnorance.
Thanks for playing! Other thoughts?
(Food for thought: I named my cat "Gigi" 12 years ago, Long before I'd even Heard of online chess, much Less the letters "gg" as an abbreviation for "good game." Was I unconsciously prescient? How prescient Was I? .....Discuss...)
I have a cat named Gigi. ..... Thoughts?
Me too, well it's usually spelled Jiji, but then during Euro 2012 I spent a few weeks calling her Gigi Buffon...

Well it looks like we could not get rid of them richers.

Please, "go on!" Don't feel bad about being "slow." You're So close to understanding the point of the thread: It is, quite simply, to continue to "go on" .... and on .... (there, now you've got it!)
This should cover it, as there is a little bit for all of us:
"More exceptionally well-played, insightful and thoroughly (in every practical and conceivable sense of this magnificent 2-word positive acknowledgment) GOOD games for me and chess player's like me...that had to suffer the humiliating indignity of not only getting slaughtered on the chess board, but also the post-"game" (or one may argue post-mortem in some cases) torment of being mocked, tarred-and-feathered with -- *wait for it*-- "Good GAME."
Have a good weekend (and a good game) everyone
