When you say pre-moves do you mean "conditional moves"?
let's ban premoves

lemme guess....youve been losing, huh. dont try to blame it on premove. you can use premoves too. if you dont wanna lose on time, play a longer time. if you had an opponet who was able to win on time when you had a clear win, thats because you SUCK and dont know how to move yor mouse in time. kidding.

I did lose a game on time the other day because of premoves. At that point I wasn't actually aware that there was such a thing. I am new to chess.com and online chess.
I just don't think you should be able to make a move without taking any time off the clock. That just seems absurd to me. Why not set it so that premoves take 1 second off the clock or .5 seconds?
Wether or not I suck at chess is beside the point. My point is that you should not be able to make moves without taking time off the clock.
Obviously I have no influence on this site I am just interested what peoples opinions on the topic are. I imagine there must be others who agree that moves should take time off the clock.

I am assuming you exclude bullet chess from your proposed ban?!?
yes :)
Although I think a good compromise would be saying that each premove takes either .5 seconds or 1 second off the clock.

Half a second off the clock for a premove? Isn't it smarter to make a normal move in 0.3 sec then? :p

nope. buy a better mouse.

premoves take off .1 seconds. they only really come into play at super fast time controls. if you don't like them, i recommend longer time controls. i, for one, enjoy 1 0 chess and like premoves :)
You can disable premoves very easily: just play with increment time controls. See, it wasn't that hard :)

Hi,
I would like to voice my support for banning premoves. I encourage chess.com to make the necessary technical adjustments. If there are people that like to use premoves there should be a section of the website devoted to games which allow premoves. It could be called premove-chess. And then those of us that like to play real chess in which moves actually take time off the clock can avoid this chess-like game entirely.
Whose idea where premoves anyway?
Please respond to this thread to voice your support for banning premoves.
Thanks!
Wow... I just love people who think that just because they don't like something that it should be banned. I like premoves and they're perfectly legitimate. Learn to use them or learn to play without them, don't come here and whine about it.

Agreed. Opposed to stopping premoves.
