Live chess currently sucks- unfair pairing, bullying, cheating and hate

This site thinks I can beat someone with 3x more points? No. I can't even abort the game. I lose points!

Also, I tried playing with some of those members. Some are cheaters for sure. No one can make a move in 1 second then respond so fast and again and again...

Also, the mean messages. I kept getting them, reported the guy and had to resign and lost the points for being bullied. Nothing happened

Bullying to. Reported them for sending cruel texts, nothing.

What's the point of live chess anymore?

Hmm. You have been a member for only a week now. It takes a while to get used to the way things run around here.

It looks like you mainly play rapid games with slower time controls. Your rapid rating is currently close to 300. Are you saying that you have been matched with 900 rated players? ("3x more points") You can set the range for players you want to face in your settings. https://support.chess.com/article/1962-how-do-i-choose-what-rating-my-opponents-are

It would be very unusual to have to face someone rated 600 points above you unless you were in a tournament or if you choose one of the less popular time controls. (90% of all the games played on Chess.com are in 3 time controls-- 3 0; 5 0 and 10 0-- Sometimes there aren't a lot of players looking for a game in some of the other time controls. If that happens, they can match you with whoever comes along.) A good way to avoid that is to choose one of the most popular time controls like 10 0. That is the most popular time control on the site.

You say that no one can move fast and type at the same time. A lot of people can do that. It is not a valid cheating detection method.

The option to abort is supposed to be used only rarely. It is not supposed to help you pick opponents. If you use it too often, you lose the ability to use it and the only option left is to resign.

You can simply turn off game chat (in settings) if you find that people say mean things. I haven't had it on for years because I just can't chat and think about moves at the same time. You are frustrated that you can't see that anything has happened to the people you reported for saying mean things. They are often given temporary mutes and warned to act in accord with site rules. You would not be aware of such actions. Saying "mean" things isn't usually enough to get an account closed. If it bothers you a lot, I encourage you to turn off the game chat option and focus on making good moves. https://support.chess.com/article/626-how-can-i-play-without-chat-messages

Meanwhile, let's focus on the positive. You have won more rapid games than you have lost.

Banter is part of fast time controls.

Set your ELO range.

No. I can't even abort the game. I lose points!

You can only abort on the first turn of the game. And, like @justbefair said, if you do it too often, you lose the option to abort.

Also, I tried playing with some of those members. Some are cheaters for sure. No one can make a move in 1 second then respond so fast and again and again...

Actually, I can do that. It's called typing fast. And it's impossible to cheat and play a move in 1 second, you have to put it into the system, wait for Stockfish to evaluate the best move, things like that. Usually takes 5 seconds, at least.

Also, the mean messages. I kept getting them, reported the guy and had to resign and lost the points for being bullied. Nothing happened

Why do you have to resign if you get a mean message? Just ignore it and move on. And you don't have to accept the chat.

Bullying to. Reported them for sending cruel texts, nothing.

You just said that.

I don't know, every point you just made was invalid.

This probably won't get locked. A moderator already saw this topic, even commented in it and did not close it for some reason. My theory is that chess.com policy has changed, and now it's perfectly okay to accuse everyone of cheating.

Bullying? Do you really feel bullied on a cellphone or Pc game? You can choose to open message or not. Depending on the rating of the player maybe they pre moved a few moves based on position. But I agree there are some cheaters on this site for sure.

But only when chess.com does it. Anyone else accusing someone of cheating gets a warning. Rules for thee ...

The word cheating doesn't automatically cause topics to be locked. In this particular topic, it seems to be more of a misunderstand on how the site works and not directly a discussion on the that subject. It's still possible it could be locked as the discussion in general isn't allowed and the policy hasn't changed.

You guys have a unique talent to see an abusive troll as some poor lost soul.
