WTF??? Commercials in Bullet and Blitz Games!

I've never seen anything like it on chess.com.

I will wager $5 that your machine is infested with malicious adware. If you can't just wipe the drive and start over, attach the drive to a known-uninfected machine, pull your data off and then wipe it.

Using what browser? Have you tried a different one?

I had the same, using Firefox. It was infected though.

If you cant remove it use Chrome.

We've had this happen before and it was fixed then.  I have recently had a couple of reports of this happening again, but sadly I'm limited on the feedback/info I'm getting back in order for me to replicate and locate it.

When the ad appears I need to know exactly what you were doing with your game play in there.

For example;

Was it a tournament game? or normal one?

When the ad appeared, do you remember if you had any other game tabs open ? By this I mean games that had ended already or 'top game' observing.

Did the ad appear as a whole ad?  (with the 'close' option on it)?

or a partial ad where there wasn't any option to close?

It's a bug which happens if You observe or play multiple games, and flash ad remains in screen after one of the games is ended.

Closing affected game tab solves the problem. I'd say it's either flash or both flash and browser bug.

We're already working on that 'unwanted second game' appearing issue, but for now I need to focus on the ad that appears

Try to anticipate the commercial by playing your opening more quickly. Then, use the commercial time to plan your endgame.

Adam, very funny . It happened to me two or three times (in blitz tournament game and in blitz) and it annoyed me very much.

No possibility to turn it off but i continued playing nervously seeing only half of the board and sadly, loosing both times. 

use adblock on chrome, firefox, or safari, depending on your computer.

I'm suffering from these pop-up adds. I play only one game

at a time and have not other windows open. The ads appear

to happen randomly, they stay for 4 seconds or so then disappear.

Are any of the ads for anti-virus software?

Are these ads approved my management? Or are they unable

to stop them??

The ads basic members see on live chess are put there by us.

Are they designed to stop play? The last two times the game could

not go on because the ad obscured the board.

Blackie17: there is a bug in Chrome related to Flash ads and we are preparing a workaround. I think you are using Chrome browser?
