long games on Live Chess

First off let me say I love Chess.com and I am fond of most of it's members I have encountered. One thing that has been irritating as of late on Live Chess for me though is that sometimes when i am playing a long game my opponent tries to rush me when there is like 13 min. left on my clock. I explain to them had i wanted to move fast i would have chose to play a quick or blitz game not a long game. Most apologize and quit hassling me, but don't you think that when players agree to a longer game they should already know that it may take me a little time to move? Do me a favor.. if your passion is quick or blitz stick with those and please don't click on a seek for a long game if you are expecting your opponent to make moves like the wind. It is extremely annoying to see "hurry up move!" and "play man!" inside the chat box every 30 seconds and i don't want to have to close the chat box on my impatient opponents unless i think they are being outrageously rude which in most cases they are not... just a little pushy.

I know what you are talking about. Although you can just disable the chat and bring it back whenever you want. That is what I do often so not to get distracted in specifically fast games.

Don't apologize for your inconsiderate and rude opponents. Sounds like these clowns need to be muted.

There's no reason to rush your opponent no matter what the time control is. If thet take too much time, they lose!

Yes... just disable chat and you don't have to listen to them.

good point. Disabling chat is a solution but I think the personal contact with the other player makes the chess much more fun. Otherwise I could play a computer.

Exactly Gert-Jan. I already know I can close the chat box out anytime I want, but like I said I don't want to do this unless absolutely necessary. I enjoy personal contact with my opponents even if we talk very little. It makes the game more fun for me. I posted this in the hopes that maybe a few impatient players would read it and take into consideration not rushing their opponents in long games. I mean it's not like I can stop them if they really feel the need to be a jerk, but maybe some of them will remember this post when they go to yell at their opponent in the chat box next time. Hopefully they will take a deep breath and patiently await a move.(hopefully)
