There is another chess site, ICC, that I am a member at. Over there, after most games I say , handshake. Only 1 person out of 100 replies back with , handshake. Courtesy and good manners has mostly gone out the window. Oh and sometimes they even reply that the game was a waste of time because I wasn't a strong enough player, so there.
Message To People Who Disable Chat

For every person wanting to say "Good game", "Well played" and "Good luck", there's ten hurling abuse at you or telling you you're an idiot for not resigning when they feel like you should resign. I'd rather play in silence and not find out what you're using the chat box for.

usually i chat when i make a blunder, then he makes a missed win on the next move. otherwise... i disable chat.

I have chat disabled by default, because it's quite common for Live Chess chat to come in the form of harassment, swearing, or threats.
Keeping the chat disabled keeps the chess silent and pleasant, with a focus on the only thing that matters in Live Chess: the chessboard itself.

the only thing that matters on the chess board is good moves-Bobby Fischer

Well, would you rather have someone not say GG and think you are being disrespected, or do you want to be COMPLIMENTED that he did well in this good game
Sometimes just when I was about to say hello the chat disabled. Wtf people? CHill with the disabling. It's not cool.
