Possible to spectate games on Chess.com?

I'd like to watch games of other players live, but I haven't been able to locate any functionality on the chess.com website. The Android app does allow watching games, but it shows only "top games", which are limited to 1800+ players playing bullet and lightening. Is there a way to filter on longer games around my rating and spectate? If not, I'd be highly disappointed. frustrated.png

In live chess, look for the binoculars.

There is no filter function but if you sort by the game type (blitz/bullet/rapid) and scroll down far enough, you should eventually get to games involving people with similar ratings.

It's funny but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of games going on now. The lists used to go on for hundreds of pages. Now the whole list seems to run only 10 pages.

Thank you. That does help, but still doesn't show enough number of lower rated games. frustrated.png

Heuristical

I could not agree more ankush981.  I have been here for eleven+ years.  Ruined.  Absolutely ruined.  How do I watch a game between a very good 1698 and 1798?  Tried to find it.  Cannot.  Know this site.  So pathetic.  Improvements?  Yea.  Sure.  Really improved alright.  Attempt at SO slick simple things are difficult to impossible?

Just too up vote the Idea I much prefer 30 min Games. One has some time to think about what comes next. Which is no problem on my desktop; but I can't even find a sort function on the app to watch longer games.

what i do is go into tournaments and follow a player of my choosing. to do that, you have to do 1 click on the user and click on the follow button. after doing this it will automatically show you the current game of that user

by opening a tournament (without necessarily joining the tournament) you can also see the elo of the users

thanks for sharing... this helps immensely!  i couldn't find it in the Chess/com user guide.  oh wait... ther doesn't seem to be a Chess/com user guide happy.png

If you are using the website,  and they are accepted friends here, go to live chess and look for the Friends tab.

Thank you

Best way to achieve this is to find a player with many friends, like 10000+ e.g. blitzstream, by browsing his friends you will find hundreds online at any given point at a range of elo and variety of game lengths, just find someone playing and watch!
