What does premium membership offer in the way of live chess that basic doesn't?

I'm pretty set on upgrading, just trying to figure out what type of upgrade suits me best

You get to lord it over the basic members as if you're a better person and they are theives stealing all the chess from righteous upstanding people.

There are other benefits in live chess, I think you can play in multiple games and stuff. But it seems to me that the first thing is used far more than any of the others.

Yes and that too.

if you want to simply play and have no ads, gold is fine. if you want to have access to everything except the top learning tools (videos and chess mentor), then platinum is fine. if you want access to EVERYTHING, go diamond!

If you want premium perks, just buy some premium blend coffee, and brew it up in your percolator.

LOL woodshover. You also get full access to Chess.com/TV, enabling you to watch special even broadcasts and a wide range of weekly shows with special guests. Platinum is good, but Diamond is better, since you have virtually unlimited access to this site's learning tools. I for one would recommend it highly.  Cool

Yes, but it doesn't give many details, just an overview

In Live Chess, premium members aren't limited to one chat entry per 30 seconds, they can participate in the Premium Only chat room (which normally is empty), and they can do voice chat (Platinum and Diamond only) and host analysis sessions.

what does diamond have that platinum doesn't iun the way of ChessTV?

Avatar of ChessMarkstheSpot

Nothing, it's the same no matter if you're Platinum/Diamond. But there are so many other perks like Training videos, unlimited Tactics Trainer and Chess Mentor, plus you just get that nice shiny diamond next to your name  Cool

and who gave you permission to speak, freeloader?  hehehe

On Diamond, you also get full analysis of all the games that you play, which I find helpful as I compare it to analysis of my computer chess programs like Fritz 12 or CM 10. Smile   I just think Diamond is better only due to the idea that you can do pretty much whatever you want on here and it's unlimited. My girlfriend went from Gold to Platinum just do to more Tactics Trainer and have access to more TV shows, since also she is an Admin of the Chess.com/TV Group, so it definitely helped there too.  Cool

I wish there were smaller "bolt-ons" for memberships. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for more tournaments, but I'll never use the other features of the platinum and diamond.

Don't you get unlimited Tactics trainer with Platinum?

Hence why he said unlimited tactics trainer.

He was implying that just Diamond gets unlimited tactics trainer.

Ah yes, my mistake. But you've got to allow us slovenly basic members more of those than usual.

I never noticed. I don't pay attention to that kind of stuff.
