Rating thieves

There must be some rating thievs out there these days.

I just lost a 2-minutes game even though I had no mistakes and no blunders. After 21 moves I had pretty much lost the game. My opponent had, after 21 moves, no blunders, no mistakes, no inaccuracies, only one good move and the rest exellent moves. Even the computer couldn't have done it much better. This was a 2-minutes game, played fast, and my opponent was rated less than 1000.  It was not a traditional opening. New player (or a new account to be more precise). Recent days I have met players rated 500 less than their highest rating. Everybody seems to be rated something like 300 less than their highest rating (bullet games).

The inmportance peope place on a game of online chess is bizarre.

His rating was 959 when he played this game. After the game his rating went up to 1208. The rating you see is after the game.

IMBacon, this single game is NOT important and my rating is NOT important either. The point is that there are rating thieves out there who have stolen so many rating points that an average player has about 200 points less than before.

I completely understand what youre saying.  But again...Its an online rating, its online chess, its the internet.  We all know people cheat.  Its not going to be stopped, and it will continue to happen.  Let it go, and enjoy the game :-)

Reporting people does absolutely no good, as they simply open another account.

I looked at another game he just played. 44 of 45 moves were exellent moves.

He plays only exellent moves until he wins, then more normal play after that. Yes, a new account as soon as the account is banned. I think so.

And look at this guy: https://www.chess.com/member/cfoley27

Bullet rating only 1463 now. At the same time he is rated 2123 in rapid chess. Could be a person who is better at rapid than bullet, but there sure is a long way to go from 1400 to 2100.
