Someone asked me a question earlier about how did I get it right to stand my ground. My opponent couldn't do anything.
TIP FOR BEGINNERS
The thing is you can't just go and attack! If you're rated high then you might work out a plan but beginners make this common mistake. Just forify your base and then castle, keeping your king safe. Push out your pawns in small movements. Keep your Knights behind your pawns. Force the opponent in a corner. No piece must go ungaurded. Gaurd a piece even 5 times if you have to.
