It would be interesting if that type of tourney happened to be offered. However, it would have to be well designed to give some time between rounds for breaks (without having to use game time for all the breaks).
It would also have to be well advertised. If I knew about it in advance on a weekend I might be interested in occassionally taking part in something like that.
Well I just want to suggest a longer time control tournament in live chess. The longest is 15|10 and I'm not that good in short time controls. And before you say "then go make an open seek with 90 mins" it's just not the same feeling. I just came up with this idea when I lost to someone just a while ago in a 30|0 time control. I knew I was winning as black in the mid-end game(and the computer analysis agrees!
) but then my opponent still has 20 mins when I only have 4 mins. And before you say "It's your fault you should manage your time", yes I know I must manage my time but it isn't directed to my opponents playing faster than me. It's just a suggestion that may prove good for some members here who also like longer time controls to play. BTW, 90 mins is still short compared to OTB tournaments.
