I got the Yahoo Babel Fish app for my toolbar, and It sometimes translates stuff that is already in English. For example I tried translating this page and ended up with the title saying "Translator in Cat?"
lol

There are already free tools out there that do this for you -- I think the chess.com development staff's time would be better spend focusing on funcitonality that is core to the site, especially when there are already solutions to the problem out there.
Agreed.
Plus learning to read *most* languages that use the Roman alphabet is not all that difficult.
good idea, but i don't think there is a such thing, yet. You can translate word by word and try to understand the meaning of a whole sentence, but i don't think there is any machine or program which translates whole sentence gramaticly coretcly with meaning. So, all of us who doesnt speak english or any other non-mother language well should try more. It is question of general culture each of us, to know at least one foreign language more. For example i like to chat with my opponent during the game, that way i get to know other parts of the world and of course practice my english.
I know Spanish and English so I do not have much of a problem.
Well, it looks like you want to boast about this fact, hah. I don't think that Spanish is a hard language to learn, at all. You can always find plenty of good and reliable websites like PREPLY and it's articles with the basic Spanish words and phrases which can help for any person to become proficient in it. There are couple of languages, which are nightmare for me, like Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, etc. I really have no idea how people learn them from the scratch, without any native-speaking relatives.
Que?
