Why are my games unrated?

Hi. After the last couple of my bullet games, I noticed that my rating hadn't changed and after some digging I found that it was because they were unrated games. I hadn't asked to play any unrated games and this was not what I wanted. I cannot find any options or settings which allow me to specify that I only want to play rated games. Can anyone please help me: how can I ensure that I only play rated games?

That has happened to me too. I couldn't find how to make all my games rated.

I've been at 1361 all day.  Hasn't changed a point one way or the other despite several wins and losses.

Mine has mysteriously been fixed.

I am also playing unrated games for the last hours. Must be a general problem.

I've seen a few other topics about it today. When creating a Custom seek, if it says rated and you end up with an unrated game anyway, then it is likely a bug.

Same here. 9 blitz games. I've never played an unrated game and now 9 in a row!

I've played 7 blitz games today and the 2nd and 7th were unrated without my knowledge and apparently no way to tell if it was rated or not.  In the past, I've played several daily chess games that were unrated without my knowledge.  Can you tell if it's going to be a rated game in daily chess?

Go to custom challenges and click on Rated/Unrated. Change it to Rated.

just like when a month ago people were getting timed out and no explanations were forthcoming. and now this 'Unrated' anomaly. Again no explanations forthcoming. chess dot com has frequent bugs that they don't fess up to. they have been notified and membership will possibly decrease as bad-mouthing might increase.

By far the most interesting question though is why these - really annoying - mishaps keep happening?

click on custom challenge , the window option then allows for rated setting
