The problem is connection reliability and server stability. There is no way to guarantee that games will not be interupted and have the tournament become a mess.

"Our developers are working hard on a beautiful site redesign AND on Live Tournaments, the latter of which will be ready for you to join & play in October!"
We are adding live chess tournaments. They should be ready really really soon.
They are being bug tested at the moment.

But, it is already the second half of October.
Live Tournaments are now available to Premium Members - for beta-testing purposes only!
Go into live chess, look at the top where the New Game tab is, there is a Tournaments tab next to it. That tournaments tab shows all upcoming tournaments to play.
The start times on those, are your time zone. I'm in the uk so for example i see a start time of 8am .. In America being 8 hours being my timezone, you'd see the same tournament but with a start time of midnight.
So asking others 'hey join the 9:40am tourney' won't help if they are in a different country
I can't understand why chess.com authorities give no importance to starting live chess tournaments.
As far as I know, chess.com is the best chess web site. But, I very much look forward to participate in live chess tournaments.
I would like to know when chess.com authorities will start live chess tournaments - which is in their "pipe line"
