Believe it or not, if you read the site instructions and FAQs, you can find out the features that membership buys you. Alternatively you could post the 1278th iteration of that question in the forums ...

"all bark and no bite" and still and you are here enjoying your live chess. We've have no problem with new members here, we welcome them wholeheartly. The number of new members is growing everyday ! and with you possibly leaving won't put a dent on this website.
I did read the FAQ when I first got here- and I just checked it again- nothing personal, but it's pretty weak.
Under "general" the first post is about avatars! - no mention of "getting started", or "first time users", no introduction at all ( that I could find)
No explantion of the diffent games online here- no mention of why I have 3 different scores ( or where they're located).
It's obviuosly frustraing.....
and then the response I got from the members here was ;ess than welcoming.
I'm used to high traffic sights, sight with few if any rules, and I know to bring my 'A' game if I'm going to jump into the mix,
BUUUT
Where I come from it's considered very poor form to dogpile on a new member that happens to ask a n00b question, like:
What do you wear under your cycling shorts"
or
"What gun did Al Pacino use in the movie Heat?"
"Beans or no beans in chilli"
".44 vs, 9MM"
I get that....
A couple of 'facepalm pics' or the Ricky Ricardo
"AGNTSA" memes, I'd understand.
