I live near U of A, tucson mall is not that far. Do you have any senior tournaments? And are they USCF rated?

I am 41 and interested in playing against adults. Do you adult tournaments or times when there are typically adults playing?

Rising Star Chess has monthly events that are pretty great. Banner chess has some events as well.

Check this club out.

They have tournaments at women's club, for anyone to go. I think you have to be a USCF member.

Also I think Tucson mall has something. But I can't think of anything close to Catalina. You might hear of places in southern Arizona, from the club above.

We have tournaments, also USCF rated, at Coy's Camps And Classes in the Tucson Mall.

Ain't it like 250 degrees there right now?

I was looking online at cheap land there but it's just soooo hot.

That's only in the afternoon during the summer. There's a 30 degree temperature change between high and low.

Also, if you're sitting under the shade of a tree AND there is a breeze. 105° is fine. You just can't get active outside when it's that hot. Unless you know what you're doing.

Almost retired (63). I would love to play chess otb. Haven't done so in years, just limiting myself to follow the tournaments online. Please let me know if there are any chess groups that I can join in Tucson.

This sort of treatmemt makes it best for the player. Don't live anywhere near there as yet.

We should try not to make things worse.

I just called them and the guy said that it's not a formal thing but usually on Wednesdays people show up and play chess.
