I’m looking for advice from those of you that run or attend an in person chess club.
What drives you to, or away from, an OTB chess club?
Why I ask: I run the Balanced Rook Chess Club here in Colorado Springs, CO.
We are an all ages (a majority of attendees are adults), all skill levels social club.
We were meeting at the library for a year, and moved to a brewery this past summer which caused an uptick in attendance and was met with positive feedback. I take from that: Beer = good addition to the club.
As I’m working on growing visibility and attendance for the club I appreciate any tips or experiences you can share.
