1st try I wanted to play 1.Rc8 thinking that that would get the job done too, though maybe not as quickly as 1.Qa8.
In either case 1.Qa8 or 1.Rc8, I think black might play 1...Ndf2+ or 1...Ngf2+ and take the initiative.

I do not know how much counterplay black has but why play the move that gives checkmate. Say Black does not take the queen but instead plays something like queen h4 or bishop g8 then what? I wish I could open an analysis board for these things. Anybody want to play this as an unrated set position game? Ill take black just because I am curious if black can save the game.
