Clever variation, but I think, in your analysis you missed both,

if 3Kc1 Ra1#

and more importantly

if 3bxQ bxc3

4Bb5 Rb8

5Qxe5 and I think white can hold

I agree with your first comment.

I think if 4 Bb5, Rc-a8 wins for black

but, building on your idea, I think 4 Qxe5 allows white to avoid a quick mate
