Sorry there no pattern anymore. its just a nice mate in 4 (those are rare actually, i always see mate in 1,2,3,5, but not many 4s).

2... Bxc8 appears to remove the checkmate danger. (Although white is still materially winning.)

Why do you always post half-made puzzles? Why not make them correct before posting? Now my original refutation is incorrect.

Although you have rendered my original refutation obsolete, I prevent a new one: 1... Kd8. Prevents mate, though the game is still unsavable. Instead, 1. Qb5+ will lead to checkmate.

Sorry, but if you make a puzzle for about 2 mins, moving one piece takes ages, so i have to insert it and re-edit it. i don't post it, i just insert it into the comment box then edit it again. i then finally post it down because i thought it was correct, although i DO realise there are a lot of lines i havnt checked, i mean this one to me i knew it was a faulty one, but i didn't want to delete it because i spent a lot of time (20 mins on one puzzle is quite a lot to me, believe it or not) on it. So i post it down, then i switch some pieces around after some thought (takes one min, admittedly i should do this BEFORE posting), but then i have to add in all the variations again and that simply bores me. Takes far quicker though, because i just copy it from my original (which is similar).
all in all i guess im wrong, so sorry, i won't post half made puzzles again.
however, it feels safer to post it because then its THERE, ive had my computer not respond before and lost the whole puzzle, and i can't remember the position well enough.
also, when i find something's wrong, and need to add a piece or something, getting the fen is very handy. but i have to post it down first to get the fen, maybe chess.com could improve on the inserting a position/puzzle/diagram, by have the fen available of the current position/edit.

and also um Nytik, i now HAVE editted the puzzle to include Kd8. so how does Qb5 lead to checkmate?
1. Rdc2 Kd8 2. Qb5 b6...?

I think you'll find I said 1. Qb5, not 2. Qb5.
