Nice puzzles, I was able to do both, but only after I made one error. The knight move had me baffled for a moment, so I had to choose again. 
Yea, the knight is probably the tricky part of both - you have to open the line to attack the F2 square at any cost.
Straightforward and creative at the same time. Don't see that every day.
For the second puzzle I played 5. ... gxf5 that looks like mate also.
That's true. I just liked the visual aspect of Bxf5 more. :)

lastwarrior, the pawn can't take on f5 because of the rook on g1. It would expose the king on g8.

This puzzle has several lines, but all of them are forced mates as far as I can see. Alternate lines will be listed as move comments. This was spotted in one of my live chess games, and upon examination it was in fact a forced mate.
Two puzzles; both have the same first move but they each examine one move for White; you're playing Black to win. This is a FORCED MATE in 5 moves maximum. Good luck!
