2. Ba6?  Why not mate in 2 instead?

There is no mate in 2, DangCit.

There is after 1 ... Qc8, which was why I questioned 2. Ba6.  I completely understood that there was no mate in 2 if black makes it's best moves after 1. Qc6.

This is not an easy puzzle when both white and black make bad moves in the "solution."
