How does the rating system work, i lose 13 rating points for getting a puzzle wrong, and only gain 2 or 3 for getting it right. Its really annoying, i do puzzles everyday but its an annoying feature
Agreed SRG69; very frustrating to get 4 right and 1 wrong and end up with a lower rating than when you started.

The default puzzle Difficulty setting is Standard. On that the average rating of puzzles is lower than your current puzzle rating and the amount of points on a success will be lower and on a failure it will be higher.
Changing to Hard or Extra Hard will result in puzzles closer to your rating, and more points on a success and fewer on a miss. However, you'll tend to miss more puzzles, so your overall rating changes will be similar.

I solve extra hard puzzles. For solving a puzzle I get around 8 points and for incorrect (even when I have 4/5 correct moves) I lose around 8 points. I spend lot of time to think it through and I still go up. If I solve two out of three correctly, my rating improves. It doesn't happen all days, but I tend to get 2 or 3 right on more days than when I lose some points.
