It actually didn't when my coach showed this excercise to me and my teamates(no one solved it) he said it's a composition.

This is terribly ridiculous.  Why wouldn't the king take rook on either moves 5, 6, or 7?  Who cares if the c pawn puts the king in check.  Then the black queen can be unleashed.  Silliness.

@jkasparek: The bishop defending the c3 pawn would take the queen given the chance to. This chance is given by the c pawn checking the king.
