Why are puzzle captions so deceptive?

My puzzle rating isn't bad, but I find frequently I'm failing puzzles and losing a load of elo because the caption/guidance on the puzzle is utter nonsence.

The most recent one (https://www.chess.com/puzzles/problem/562314) asks me to "find a way of winning material from me". The puzzle itself doesn't want me to win material, it wants me to find a mate, which I wasn't looking for, mostly because the caption normally tells me to look for a mate if one is brewing.

So I sit there and work out the line toward winning material and of course, fail it. The puzzle's themselves seem to be fine, but why are the captions regularly and intentionally steering me down the wrong path? Seriously frustrating.

I don't think they are deliberately misleading you.

At any rate, you can turn them off in settings.
