I realise that is by far not the best image of me., and that may have distorted some people's perceptions. But it's the best I was able to do with my crappy camera. There are far better images of me out there.

Doesn't 元気ですか mean "are you okay?", or is that just the literal meaning?
What about 今日は? I know もしもし is only good on the phone.
